Google Voice lets you make free phone calls, text messages from your android and few other smartphones to landlines and mobile phones. This service is currently available in U.S Region and expected to be released in some other countries as well. It also offers Cheap rates International Calling and to Send Free Text messages to U.S Numbers and also adds Voice Mail feature now.
Google Voice 15-Nov-2011 received an update to 0.4.2.38 version. Before the latest Google Voice update, the list of features it delivered are.,

- Voicemail transcription. Voicemails are automatically transcribed to text so you can read them like email.
- Free text messages. Send and receive text messages to numbers in the US and Canada for free.
- Cheap international calls Make low-priced international calls directly from your mobile device.
- Integration. Google Voice integrates with your device’s native address book or Google Contacts.
- Custom greetings. Set up different greetings for different callers.
- Prefetch Your Voice Mails . Voice mail can be fetched previously and can be heard even wen the device is out of coverage.
- Group SMS . Send SMS to multiple Recipients.
- Improved Notification of Text Messages. This has been added as a new feature, but its uncertain about what it entails.
